Honour your words

Sept 22, 2015

Whilst procrastinating writing this post, I made a cup of green tea, which, based on the cleanse I just finished, is maintaining the alkalinity of my innards. The message at the end of the Yogi string was “by honouring your words, you are honoured.” I take that with me as a gentle push and a good retrospect.

I made myself a promise last September that I would take 2015 as slow as I could, to stay off the touring road but travel to places and stay longer to write songs with more people. To take care of my bones.  This kind of time that doesn’t exist on the road, where I’d been for years. Happy to say, I’m nailing it.

Other than a few choice shows, I will carry my promise to the end of this year with the goal of having a strong group of songs for a new record of my own. I sense the spark coming back and my reserve tanks filling.

I’ve still got one arm behind me, fingertips on summer. So hard to let go and yet a good reminder that it brings new things. It keeps happening so I embrace the pain and discomfort of adjustment and trust.

I’ve done some great reading and listening. Here’s a catch up list of music and books and podcasts I’m into.
