The year has started with a full day in pajamas and a huge blizzard outside. Some pals and I had breakfast at 2pm as we held our throbbing New Year’s Eve heads and watched The Dark Knight under blankets. I love the days you can’t really go anywhere. Good time to take note of the great year that has passed.

Here are my 2008 Highlights (in no real order).

1. seeing the Caribbean sea’s unbelievable whites and blues and fish of every colour, snorkeling for the first time and standing on the deck of a cruise ship in the warm night wind with my best friend Edie Carey, recalling the amazing concert we had just seen
2. the birth of my niece and the perfect wonder and joy she continues to bring
3. becoming a home owner, buying a fridge and putting my magnets on it
4. finding Mary Margaret O’Hara’s song ” I Don’t Care”
5. singing with Kate Campbell and Ellis Paul at Eddie’s Attic
6. American Thanksgiving in Atlanta with Lucy-Blair
7. winning an East Coast Music Award
8. hiking with my brother & John Wort Hannam in Alberta
9. touring western Canada with Don Brownrigg
10. touring western USA with Edie
11. seeing real cacti along the road in Arizona
12. smelling orange blossoms in Ojai, California
13. writing songs with David Francey, James Keelaghan, Dave Gunning, Karine Polwart & Lori Watson
14. Sadie in the Kitchen

16. listening to Kathleen Edwards sitting on the floor of the Sea Horse & meeting her after
