YOU HAVE HELPED me raise money enough to print this lil musical hamster and I can’t wait to send it to you in early August. I wish I could express to you how much your support means to me. I am truly humbled by your generousity. HIGH FIVES!

Now, I’m sitting in the middle of my living room floor, surrounded by many small piles of paper waiting to be logged or filed or recycled. Many small tasks had been haulted in the final weeks leading up to the album artwork being done (dan ledwell you are a star). Catch up time!

MAY…Recording was a great ride and here are a few of the last days in the studio: master Pat Martin at work, order it up, team confers – (Karl, Glen, Pat)

My trip to PEI with Jill Barber was great and we played two sweet shows at the Trailside Café. The second night a few friends stayed after and we had a lil jam. After the shows we headed to the farm for a traditional up-to-your-elbows-in-lobster dinner, Jill’s first, followed by b-day cake for Dad, Trent and Gramma (91 yrs). Splendid.

JUNE… I made friends with a musical young lady named Mary. Only 7 yrs old, she joined me for a rendition of Alison Krauss’ “when you say nothing at all” at her Gramma’s birthday party and she blew us all away.

JULY… was the Stan Rogers Folk Festival where, believe it or not, it barely rained. Canso, NS, infamous for it’s soggy-ness remained pleasant and only slightly damp. Peeps you should all check out include: the D Rangers and Lindsay Jane, both from Winnipeg, Luke Doucet from Toronto, Karen Savoca from NY, Poor Angus from Hamilton ON, Karen & Helene and Zar from Denmark.

Highlights from Stanfest: Kim Barlow hanging in the green room, Cathy Porter and Cheryl Weir (from Ember Swift band) learn a percussion part for the main stage set, newlyweds Luke Doucet & Melissa McLelland, Trevor Mills & Andrew Bryan (of Poor Angus) learn my song & then back me up on the main stage Sunday night.
