“you might like the gypsy life
judge your progress by the phases of the moon
get your compass and your sharpest knife
cause people love you when they know you’re leaving soon.”
- J. Gorka

I’m sure I’m still glowing. Two opening sets for an unknowing mentor of mine, John Gorka. I aspire. So kind and welcoming, he invited me to sing on a few of my favourite of his songs including: Ballad of Jamie B, Houses in the Fields, Thorny Patch, Branching Out and yes, (sigh) Gyspy Life. This night I will remember as the best birthday present ever (thank you matt s.-xo & to rose p. & edie for singing w me). I have turned my last twenty.

While in Boston I had the privilege of singing some back up vocals on one Ms. Edie Carey’s new record currently in the works. She’s so incredible and I am absolutely honoured to be a part of the project.

Thanks to all who came out to the shows in Toronto this past week and to my pal Ruta who baked far too many sugary bits of evil, all which fell into my mouth at the house concert.

Thanks to everyone who has been pre-ordering cds. Please SPREAD THE GOOD WORD as I am still on a mission to raise funds enough to print my new album!! Recording starts in one sleep and I’m really excited to see what magic happens in the studio. I’ll keep you all in the loop.

Spring. Indeed.

birthday good times: cake, alumni face, too much fun
