Happy Birthday Lyndon – hope you made it ok and I miss you already, dang it.
There’s something to be said for honesty and patience. Sometimes the excitement of something new can elevate the hormones to a euphoric level that one can’t maintain on their own. Without rushing it, and if you allow time to take you a bit further, this high level of excitement can turn into understanding….the nutrients of a home cooked meal as opposed to the rush and crash of sugar (don’t have to cut out sugar completely).
Lots of us make this mistake in the genesis of love, well intentioned but over zealous. BUT…I’ve heard stories where it was instant and others where time lent a hand. Both very inspiring. I’ve also just met someone who can complete a rubix cube in less than a minute.
The best kinds of love take on the shapes of the hearts of the people involved. It belongs to only them. I get to meet so many amazing people in my life whether at home or in my singing travels. Music is a vessel for love so we can talk about all of the amazing things about it – the parts that drive us nuts and the parts that make us sad as hell.
I’ve made a large decision. At the end of this month I will leave the security of a salary to pursue my hearts contentment in music. I’ve never been good at risk but this feels like the rightest right for me and I’m feeling strong and excited. September for students is the start of a new year and so, like them, I’m entering a new year of learning or perhaps mine is a permanent work placement into life. May the learning never end.
Congratulations to my beautiful friends Dale & Sarah on all that their love will bring to their new marriage.
Thanks to Matt S, Rose P, Edie C, F&B, Brian, Jake, Cindy & Austin for a wicked Labour Day weekend in B-town….
In my player: Lynn Miles new disc “Love Sweet Love” (check the shows..I get to open for her on the 20th!)
